Then we will begin our search: it might take a week or it might take months: nobody knows. You might fall in love with the third house you visit, or you might see fifty before you find “yours”. We will look for as long as it takes to find “THE ONE”. When we find it, I will do the market analysis to make sure that the price asked is in accordance with the market and I will negotiate on your behalf. Once the purchase price is agreed upon, I will be there when the building inspection is taking place and I will make sure everything is conforming. Then we will work together with your financial institution to get you the best mortgage conditions possible. When all that is done, I will be with you at the notary’s office when you will be signing the deed of sale. And hopefully (if you are not yet tired of seeing my face!) I will be at your housewarming party cracking champagne!!!

Determine your individual needs

The reasons for buying property vary widely from one person to another. It is therefore extremely important to discuss your individual needs with your real estate agent before visiting a property. Before making an appointment with your real estate agent, draw up a list of the factors important to you and determine your individual needs such as locality, price, type of property, number of bedrooms, surroundings, public utilities, and so on. Check with your financial institution to find out how much you can afford to carry as a mortgage and have the loan amount preauthorized.

Talk to a RE/MAX agent

Once you have analysed your individual needs, talk to your neighbourhood RE/MAX agent. If you are moving out of the area in which you currently reside, your local agent will be able to refer you to a professional RE/MAX agent in the area of interest to you.
